Истец, Кевин Берлинг, утверждает, что нежелательная вечеринка в честь дня рождения в 2019 году в компании Gravity Diagnostics стала причиной возникновения серии приступов панической атаки у него.
Согласно иску, поданному в округе Кентон штата Кентукки, г-н Берлинг, страдающий расстройствами паники и тревоги, попросил своего руководителя не не устраивать никакого празднования в офисе, как это всегда проводится для коллег, поскольку это может привести к паническим атакам и вызвать неприятные детские воспоминания.

11 августа Gravity Diagnostics уволила Берлинга, сославшись на опасения по поводу безопасности на рабочем месте. В его иске утверждалось, что корпарация дискриминировала его из-за его болезни и несправедливо отомстила ему за то, что он попросил удовлетворить его просьбу.
После двухдневного судебного разбирательства в марте суд присудил ему 450k $, включая $300 000 за расстройство и $150 000 в виде потерянной заработной платы.
Данные Национального альянса по психическим заболеваниям показывают, что более 40 миллионов американцев - а это почти 20% всей америки - страдают от тревожных расстройств.
